Sleep

Dear Friends,

We are getting in the swing of things! It’s not easy though. We need to remember so many things: caring for one another, regulating our bodies, how to care for materials, how to greet someone when we feel shy or grumpy, saying please and thank you, asking for help! Parents, thank you for helping us practice these things at home! We need opportunities to practice being independent and being kind.

We also need sleep. It helps our brains and bodies do all this hard work! Here’s the American Academy of Pediatrics guidance for sleep:

Ages 1-2 years: 11-14 hours (including naps)

Ages 3-5 years: 10-13 hours (including naps)

Age 6-12 years: 9-12 hours

Age 13-18 years: 8-10 hours

What helps your child sleep? We liked to sing to them when ours were little. I liked to sing this.

Rest well, dears,

Charlie
