Grades 6-8 Admissions

At the Center School, we use an admissions process that allows for prospective families and students to be provided with all of the information they need to best understand our program, philosophy, and community.  We also strive to learn as much as we can about all of our prospective students throughout the process, so that they can be in a position to be both happy and successful as members of our school community.

Step One: Inquire

Express your interest in our school by filling out the inquiry form below. Once your inquiry form is submitted, you will receive an email that includes the link to our tour scheduler for Step Two.

Step Two: Schedule a Tour

Once you have completed Step One, you will receive an email with a link to our tour scheduler. When possible, campus tours are hosted by our Uppers (Grades 6-8) students. After the tour, you will have time for a short meeting with Lauren Obregón, Director of Admissions and Outreach, to learn more about our school and answer any questions you might have.

Step Three: Apply

Once you have had your on-campus tour, you will be sent an email prompting you to create an account in our database, BigSIS. Once you have logged in, you will see our online application in your account portal. The priority deadline for applications is February 1st. After that date, we accept applications on a rolling basis.

Step Four: Apply for Tuition Assistance (if applicable)

Tuition for the upcoming school year is typically set by the Board of Directors in December. To access our tuition assistance application, click here or visit the “Tuition & Tuition Assistance” tab above. The priority deadline for tuition assistance is February 1st.

Step Five: Admissions Day

Students applying to Grades 2-8 will attend an “Admissions Day”. On the morning of January 17th or 31st, 2024, from 8:15am-11:30am, applicants will come to campus and spend time in a class with peers the same age. Applicants will participate in group activities and individual work with a teacher during their visit.

Step Six: Await Admissions Decision

Admission decisions are sent out during the first week of March. If we are able to accept your student, we will also send you a contract at this time. Contracts are due back two weeks from the date they were sent.
