Dear Center School Community,
This morning the Uppers gathered their backpacks, their acres of food, their pillows and stuffies, and their smiles, and headed off to the to the Cape for a few days of bonding, exploration, and celebration. The Brick Building family of lower school teachers and kids, and some parents, "clapped out" the Uppers as they departed; meaning, we cheered and clapped as they ran down the path from the Finer Building to cars, as is our tradition.
Later, they will arrive at the Cape and will unpack and get settled. This evening, they'll sit by a campfire, walk on the beach, eat a delicious meal. Heaven.
Tomorrow, they'll have a choice of activities such as bike riding, beach play, or crabbing. Throughout the trip the structure is designed to make all kids feel included and successful. There are many benefits from making this yearly, epic Uppers Journey:
*Making new friends
*Celebrating old friends
*Providing closure for leaving students
For all students, the next two weeks will include opportunities for bonding andcelebration of all that's been shared: end of year gatherings, Memory Lane All School, portfolio reflections, Magic Penny goodbyes, 8th Grade Graduation, and more. Stay tuned!
